Finally bought our new trailer today
After months of back and forth speculation as to which model to buy, we finally bought our new trailer today and ended up taking home a 2011 jay flight 28BHS for $10,000.0 less than it cost in the fall. (rather than buying the new 2012 model.)
There is a big trailer show on in our city this weekend, and the push was on to clear out the lot of anything left from last year. We were very happy with our end result, gaining an extra low interest rate, a one year free roadside assistance package, and an extra five years of warranty at very low cost as bonuses due to buying during the show. Normally these incentives are for the new 2012 models, but as we had cash in hand.. (and my husband is a a car salesman and knows how to negotiate).. we got a really sweet deal.
The unit has the customer value package with lots of extras, but the one thing it does not have is the power awning.. We are well used to the manual one.. and ..oh well you can't always have everything!
One thing that was rather interesting is that there was a G2 model for quite a low price, but what would be nice extras for other people were actually a problem for us..
-The easy load door on the bunk house (our foster kids like to escape)
-The extra padded sofa (I am 5"2", and my feet wouldn't reach the floor when sitting on it)
-The wooden door on the bedroom (We have 2 tiny dogs who like to push there way through anything that moves a bit, and there is just enough of a gap under that pocket door to tempt them into destroying it) lol

Thanks for all the info that was shared in the buying process.. now to look forward to our first camping outing...

We actually did buy a power tongue jack in the deal... because we purchased a very heavy duty centre line equalizing hitch.. and they said it would help a lot... I hope they are right.. although DH does that part.. I just help him back up to it
Have you found that it helps?

Congratulations on your new TT!! I agree about the "escape" hatch on the BH. I wouldn't want it either!

Looks great... even covered in snow. Bet you can't wait for the warmer weather.

Congrats on the new trailer. We also live in Manitoba, and May can't come soon enough for us asl. We are on a seasonal site in the Interlake.
