I'm not familiar with the 184 BH but is there an AC receptacle adjacent to the 12V source? I think they put that there for people who have 12V TVs. That might be useful in a boondocking situation.

I used to own a small TV that was AC/DC. It had an adapter for using the 12V but today, I would expect AC to be the standard. You could send an email to service@jayco.com and see if they have any advice.

Sounds like they forgot to install your 110 outlet.
You might need to use an extension cord until you can get an outlet installed properly close to the TV.

You would need something called a power inverter. This plugs into the outlet that looks like the cigarette lighter in your car. It will give you AC power. We use it to power the TV if we dont' have an electric site.

I'm with Russell (drfife) on this one... I'd use an extension. A modified sine wave inverter won't give you as good of a picture (potentially)... but if you found a pure sine wave inverter, I'd say yeah, go with that but it ain't cheap.

What's wrong with the power inverter I posted? We use it with no problems.

We have the 184bh and I'm pretty sure it has a 110 next to the 12v receptacle (just got it) Can't run and look as it's about 15 min away in storage. We haven't put a tv in yet.
The "cable" connection is actually just an antenna connection to the antenna on top. The little black switch with the green light is an antenna booster. We were told you didn't need to extend the antenna if you use the booster but that doesn't make much sense.

Some TV's and other appliances may not work to full potential with a modified sine wave inverter. In basic term, the AC power is not as "clean" and may result in poor picture quality.
It's great if your inverter and TV work well together. You may find a different TV may have issues.

The outlet is in case you want or need a 12vdc tv. They are not to common anymore.
If I were dry camping the last thing I would want is a television blaring away.
