We just picked up a 2017 27BHS this past weekend. The yellow sticker has the weight of the unit at 6604.

I'm not sure where the weight difference is between '16 and '17. I know that the awning on the '17 is bigger and goes all the way to the end to cover the outside kitchen, but outside of that I am not sure what else may be causing the difference.

Welcome and congrts on looking to join the Jayco Clan!

Regarding the weight difference, it could be that Jayco has possibly updated the "brochure" weights a little more. Not always 100% accurate, but things do change a little as Jayco (all manufactures do as well) makes mid year changes, which could change the weights slightly.

Heck, our 16' 32 BHDS was listed as being 7600lbs, 910lbs tw, and I would have to double check the written brochure if I find it, 35'8". The '17 is 7595lbs (ok, what's 5lbs right), 955lbs tw, and 36'2".

So it is hard to say exactly why, but it could be due to small differences like Scotty mentioned.

Good luck shopping!

I own a 2016 38FDDS. Not sure about weight, but on my particular model they changed the way they packaged items. The elite package is mandatory on the 2017, but was an option on the 2016. The 2016 elite package included roof ladder,5 way remote (for slides and awning), kitchen skylight and mor/ryde. These are not included in the 2017 elite package, but are offered ala cart, except the mor/ryde suspension which I don't think is offered at all anymore. They also changed some of the color offerings. The flooring is a slight different color. The cabinetry is also slightly different. The 2016 had black appliances, the 2017 has stainless steel. I think the exterior did not change. If you add it all up and configure a 2016 vs a 2017, the price remained about the same. The above changes from 2016 > 2017 look to be about the same for the 27BHS as well.

Many times they list it's expected weight on internet sites but each camper is weighed before it leaves the factory and has a sticker that states it's weight. I thought the same about 2015 vs 2017 but it turned out the actual weights were similar and even the 2017 was less.
