Kayak carrier ideas
So my wife and I have started kayaking.
We have a 30 ft 5W and Id like to carry our 2 kayaks with us on a couple of trips. I'm wondering if anyone has done this and how did you carry them?
I'm considering putting them on the roof - but then how to secure? Second idea is to use the cargo slide out I have on the back and mount the boats vertically somehow.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

I carry two Folbots in the bed of the pickup when traveling. Once they are assembled I have roof racks on the truck.

Oops, see you have a 5th wheel (edit).
I did this w/ a Yakima Outdoorsman rack on the bed, and another Yakima on the roof of the cab. Easy on/off. Has worked great for me.

Depending on your length and weight of them combined. I am pretty sure that they make a t-bar that plugs into a front receiver so that you can tie them from your cab roof and support them over your hood. Although the pictures above look like a more secure support frame with two points.
Other options include getting them in your 5'er somehow.

Thanks for the input. I hadn't considered using a front mount and going out over the hood. I might go that route because the same receiver could be used for a bicycle mount.

I use a Yakima roof rack system on the roof of my truck. The 2 kayaks are sitting in hully rollers. I have hauled them all over the country and never had a problem. I can post a picture if you want.

Thanks Norty but I'm hauling a fifth wheel so the roof rack wont work unless I extend it out and brace from the front bumper.

When we had our 5th wheel, we just put them inside the RV. Very simple.
Both kayaks are over 11 feet long. No problem, just a wiggle here, squirm there, and they were in the door.
Now w/the TT, we have a fiberglass topper on the truck w/Yakima rack system.
