Roof issue

Hi all,
We have had our brand new eagle ht 29.5bhds for about a month now. I went up on the roof today to clean before our weekend trip and noticed the roof material buckling around the skylight. What do you guys make of this?

Thanks
Tom

Looks like your dealer did something, that's not factory caulk.

If your trailer came from the dealer in that condition that is unacceptable. It looks like a repair around the skylight was done poorly. I would bring it back to the dealer and let them handle this.

Thanks guys
Not to happy about it.
We've had some issues:
Speakers blown
Entrance door jamb bent
Refrigerator panel keeps falling out
Shower door rollers broke
Front steps loose
Oh and the floor when you walk in deflects about an inch and squeaks bad along the bulkhead which is directly opposite of a soft spot on roof.
Should I be concerned about the roof repair?

Yes,
I definitely would be with the soft spot in the floor.
Probably found it on the lot after a leak sat and soaked in the floor.

If that trailer was brand new and had a leak they did not tell me about I would be . Back to the dealer for a trade. I would not spend one night in it. Words can not explain how mad I would be.

Whew, something smells fishy with that camper. Looks like they tried to pull one over on you.

I am not sure what the laws are where you are, I would not want to accept a repair. If you have to accept a repair, I would insist on an extended warranty, and would also contact Jayco directly with the photos and what the dealer is offering/saying.

Our roof was replaced under warranty two weeks ago. Tech made notation glue had been applied very uneven over entire roof.Took almost two years for JAYCO to approve roof replacement! Might want to get the process started.

I suspect that with water damage to floor, and not reported when sold, then Jayco owes you a new trailer.

There is no absolutely no way that what you described is "normal". Especially on a brand new unit.

The caulked patch job around the roof vent is not normal, and I have never heard of a 1" deflection in any RV's floor. That's excessive. I would definitely be contacting Jayco ASAP.

I would agree with the other posters. Dont let it drag out too long and get Jayco involved asap. I would think (hope) the dealer would have to disclose the repair to a new unit when it was sold. My biggest concern would be the damage a leak caused before they discovered it.

That is not in any way normal for the roof to look like that. Nope, not happening if it was my unit. I think you need to get Jayco involved for sure. I know this is a suck fest and it's tarnishing your excitement you had to get your "brand new" trailer. You ordered a brand new trailer, you didn't order a unit with roof damage from day one and an obviously compromised floor. Of course your dealer is telling you it's normal, and of course they don't want to take the trailer back. They can tell your on the fence and hope to persuade you to trust them and deal with your defective unit. Don't let it happen and insist that an outside the loop person look at trailer, preferably a Jayco rep or someone authorized by them other than this dealer. You need someone with no dog in the fight to assure you that your overreacting or that you indeed have a case. We all expect dings and scratches on these things but that roof is jacked up and sounds like there are other issues to put icing on the cake!

Have you checked the manuf date on the label (driver's side, lower front corner) to be sure they didn't bring it in from another lot.
