New Jayco Owner

Just bought a new 2017 Northpoint 377 RLBH last December. Great 5th wheel but need help with the Galley AC Unit. Not putting out much airflow. We live in the desert and can't seem to get the temp in the living /galley below 89 f. Not sure what to do or look at to improve this. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Congratulations and welcome to the forum.

Our summer here in AZ has been brutal! Hopefully our monsoon is on the way.

I'm sure your ceiling vents are closed... I've missed those a time or two.

I had a slide topper installed on our Jay Flight to keep the sun off the slide roof. Slides don't have the insulation that the main roof has.

Start with putting the 14" pillow inserts in the vents, and cutting / fitting reflectix in most of the windows. That'll help a bunch. Slide out toppers will also help if you don't have them already. Also, blank the skylight off. Ours have 4" batten between the inner / outer domes, reflectix, and the outside is coated. In a hot environment, skylights are your enemy, as are windows.

Welcome to the group. I would start another thread in a more appropriate area like Travel Trailers than the welcome mat. You will have folks with the same rig reading and giving you some valuable feedback.

I did buy some of the ez snap shade material for the windows. I guess I will need to look into the slide toppers too. I checked the return air grills and found cold air being blown to the outside through that duct. I will see if I can get access to close any gaps.

Thanks for the info.
