Started wearing distance & astigmatism lenses when I was 22. Should've started at 18-19.

Don't need reading lenses yet (55), but I have bifocals that help with detail work.

Contacts. I'm near sighted, so I need something to help with distance. While I can operate without them (I have a mild prescription), it's not ideal by any stretch. If I don't know where I'm going, I can't read highway signs until it's too late.

This brings up an important point for RV'ing though. If you wear contacts, how many of you bring along your glasses on trips? If you wear glasses, how many of you bring an extra set? I always pack an extra set of contacts, a fairly large bottle of solution (my wife wears contacts too, so we always pack extra solution), and my glasses (with clip on sun glasses) just in case. It would suck pretty bad to rip a contact and have to drive 3 hours home without corrective lenses. In the light of day I could make it work if I knew where I was going, but at night it would be a challenge at best.

Started wearing glasses with a "progressive" prescription, often called "computer lenses", a couple of years ago to deal with farsightedness. Focusing on things that are close, within an arms length, was getting difficult. I have two pairs of glasses - one stays in my computer bag for work and the other stays at the house. When we travel the house pair stays in the trailer. I also have non-prescription sun glasses with reader lenses that I use for driving.

Been wearing contacts for a long time for nearsightedness. I use the extended wear. When time to restock the camper in spring, an extra pair goes in and stays for the summer. Also have a secondary pair of glasses that are always in the camper. Probably should consider Lasik before I get too old. 2 family members have had it done with good results.

Reading glasses for the past 20 years. Farsightedness is still like when I was in my teens.

Glasses or contacts since age 8. Cataract and lasik next week and 2nd eye in January.

No glasses after that will seem weird, except for reading.

My vision is so bad I can't even see the big E on the eye chart, and I have an astigmatism. Primarily a glasses wearer, though I do use contacts when on the bike or in the pool.

I just have my Superman X-ray glasses, they are great for finding leaks in a RV.

Turned 50 and the eyes went down hill. I went from computer glasses to mild full time about 3 months ago.

Really sucks as a photographer to make the adjustment.

Glasses. They don't make trifocal contacts. I tried the progressive lenses and hated them; they distorted everything. Love my trifocals although I have a pair of readers I use at the computer and another pair of readers for watching TV.

Contacts. Can't even drive without them, or at least not very good. Have worn them since I was 12-13 I think, and I will be 41 in a few weeks. I can't do glasses. I have very light colored eyes, and transition lenses aren't dark enough for me in any kind of sunlight, plus the transition lenses limits you to the type of glasses. When welding I have to use a shade 11 plus to keep from hurting the eyes. I just have sensitive eyes.

Have been wearing glasses for 61 years. Don't know what I would do without them.

I can't function without glasses or contacts. Always a back up pair of glasses but contacts are my daily choice.

I've needed glasses since age 8, and hated every moment of it. I tried contacts in my late teens-early 20's, but they were the daily wear ones and it became a paint having to take them out and clean them every night. Finally I just stuck with glasses, and now I use progressives.

DW needed glasses and about 15 years ago she went and had her eyes lasered. And guess what? Now she needs glasses.

Have worn glasses since I was 5, had LASIK about 10 years ago and got rid of contacts for about 8 years, however 2 years ago now have to wear a contact in one eye. Thinking about going in for a touchup.

Had glasses since grade 6...got laser surgery when I was 23 and had 20/20 vision until this year when I turned 43...now I have 20/25 vision and need glasses to drive at night mostly.
Laser was good while it lasted but I was told when I had it done that as I aged my eyes could eventually worsen again.
Oh and before I had laser surgery my vision was 20/100 in each eye.
