Jay Feather Toilet Upgrade

Is it possible to upgrade our Feather's plastic toilet to a porcelain model? Is the floor designed to handle the added weight? Would I need to reinforce the flooring to accommodate the added weight, or can I just replace it with no considerations for the extra weight? If you have done this with a Feather with the composite flooring, I greatly appreciate your knowledge and expertise.

Can anyone please help us with our inquiry regarding toilet upgrade and the Feather's composite flooring?

I wonder how much more it weighs? With the possible variance in weights of the users of the throne it would seem a few more pounds on the toilet would not be a game changer. I know they now install them in Jayflights.

Well, I cannot get into user specifications; let's just say that we are within an acceptable range - but I do think the porcelain has a bit more heft to it. The flights have nice plywood flooring. I just do not know if the Feathers are relegated to the plastic or if it is more of a cost factor. I guess that is what I need to know for sure. Is the Feather's composite/laminate flooring able to handle the extra weight. A lot of folks have structural integrity issues with the laminate floors.

Just guessing, but I believe a porcelain toilet replacement would be okay in your Feather. I do not know the layout of your trailer's bathroom but a bigger concern is the larger diameter of the porcelain commode. Do you have room for one, considering both entry door clearance and shower door, if there is one.

(Don't ask how I know of these concerns)

I think we have ample space. We have a nice, spacious rear bath. I would need to get measurements dialed-in to be sure.

Check out this Dometic 310 Series Porcelain RV Toilet install video. Hope that is helpful.
And here is another install video.

That video is not what I am trying to resolve. I know about the toilet styles, functions, and products for them. I need to know if I can put a porcelain toilet on our composite/laminate flooring (not plywood), replacing the plastic OE toilet. Is the lighter weight plastic the only design that this floor will handle? Has anyone with a laminate floor switched to porcelain? If so, how has worked out? The laminate floors are not as firm as the plywood, and I would like to know if they are or are not capable of handling the added weight of the porcelain without any structural problems.
