New Owner of a 2016 154BHS
Hey everyone
Grew up RVing with my grandparents and finally convinced my wife to buy a travel trailer for our young family. As we were limited by towing ability (Mazda CX9 AWD with a 3500lb limit) we had very few models I felt safe purchasing but the 154BHS was the winner. Any other 154BHS owners out there with tips or lessons learned in ownership? I have already addressed the fan in the bathroom and "resealing" the AC opening. We are picking up the new trailer on Tuesday and camping the following weekend! Excited to be part of the Jayco Family.
Bill

Thanks! We are excited....Dont have a clue what we are doing but im sure thats what all the other friendly campers are for (as well as our orientation walk through next week). Towing with a 2010 Mazda AWD CX9 (rated at 3,500lb) WD, brake control, Sway control and Class 3 hitch installed. I assume for a first tow I will be going nice and slow down the highway.

You might find some aftermarket mirror for side mirrors helpful. Due to the wonky design of our Ridgeline mirror we were not able to find a mirror extension with a wide angle for the drivers side that would fit.
If you are going slow you will be passed and its nice to know when someone is about to pop out and pass you in case you are maybe going to pass someone else. ( say that fast!!)
We wound up craning our necks a lot.. Still looking for that particular accessory.

Good idea! Our neighbor who is an avid Camper and owner of an enormous 36ft 5th Wheel has given me his mirror extensions from back in his travel trailer days. They seem like they will fit OK. If nothing else I plan on limiting speed to 55mph or so to be sure I can get a feel for how it tows from my vehicle. From what I understand the WD and sway control are very helpful.

Welcome to the club! Small trailers rock! We can put these in tight little spots at just about any campground around. Some day I'll get a big monster but that's after the kids are all grown up and I do more traveling than camping . Enjoy your rig!

I like the little ones as you can keep em stocked and just grab groceries and go.
No more assembling tent, sleeping bags, stakes, tarp. raincoat, chairs.. and making a big pile in the garage

First trip out with the family was great. It was funny being right up next to some of these monster Rigs with my little 154BH. But she did what she needed to and it was a great time!

aaah the difference.. is .. you probably have a house.
I watched a woman vacuuming a monster 5th wheeler. Wondering just why anyone would want to spend time doing that.
What she was vacuuming WAS her house which I learned when we got to talking. So many RV lifestyles and life does change.
