Water pump always on when flushing?

We are only into our new 2017 Jayco Eagle 330RSTS TT and I noticed something odd of late and swore that this wasn't happening during PDI or when I tested everything again once I got it home and before we left for our trip.

From what I have known to be true, when the water pump is turned on, the switch glows red and the pump draws water from the fresh water tank and you will hear the pump run whenever water is drawn at any faucet/shower/toilet.

However, when hooked to city water and the pump switch is turned off, the switch light goes out, the water pressure from the hookup is enough to push water thru the system, and the pump never runs.

However, I just noticed today, the second day into our trip south, that no matter what position the water pump switch is in, it glows red, and even though we are hooked up to city water, the pump still runs when I flush. Doesn't run when using the kitchen/bath sinks or shower, just when flushing.

Is this a Jayco "feature" that I am unaware of?

I had the same problem. There is a switch outside where the water connects. That switch was on and the water pump never shut off. Hope it helps.

Your rig probably has more than one water pump switch. I have one outside by my outdoor shower, one by the control/monitor station, and one in the bathroom.

Both switches should be off when on city water. They are in 2 locations to make it easier to work from the utility closet. either will activate the power to the switch.

Be sure and get familiar with the valve positioning outside.
You don't want the pump running ever on city water.
