Just ordered a new TV

Having been pulling my Whitehawk 23MRB with my diesel powered grand Cherokee for the last 5 years and it has done an amazing job. My wife and I have loved camping and plan to upgrade to a fifth wheel in a few years so it was time to upgrade the TV. We ordered a new F350 srw with the 6.7 L diesel with an expected delivery of 12 weeks. I will believe the date when I see it. Went with a lariat crew cab, 6.5 bed with the fifth wheel prep and the camper towing packages. Now I won’t have to worry about limiting the trailer to the essentials and can load it up. A little but if sticker shock there. Can’t wait to get the new truck.

Congrats on the new truck. The Ford 6.7L is a proven powerplant with awesome power. I think Ford is ramping up production as a lot of people are getting their ordered trucks in 6 weeks or less. Good luck and post up some pics when you get it!

Great minds think alike. My 2016 is Caribou. I have nicknames for my vehicles and the truck is Cholak. Caribou is kind of like a moose (as is the truck), and the most famous moose was Moose Cholak. May need to be from the Region or a baby boomer to recognize the name!

I went with the Antimatter Blue. Not really particular about colors so the wife chose!

Crazy thing is I was actually looking around at used one ton trucks. They want more for a similarly equipped used truck with 20 thousand miles on it. I figured I would just order one and have the full warranty. Used truck market is crazy.

And we finally have a date for the truck to go into production along with a VIN! The truck will start being built on 7 March. Already looking at covers for the bed.

I ordered a F350 SRW with 6.7 in 2019. We got our Pinnacle later that year. When I got to looking at the numbers on the truck the payload (CCCW) was just over 3500 lbs. In 2021 we ordered a F350 DRW with the 6.7. Payload on it was over 5000 lbs. Made a world of difference on carrying the 5er in the bed of the truck. Both trucks have the power to pull it. Love both of the trucks. But I do love the 10 speed transmission in the 2021.

My point is when you go to buy the 5er in the future just consider the pin weight and other objects you put in the truck. Good luck and enjoy.

Definitely have less payload than a drw but we are looking at the 32rlts pinnacle so I think we will be ok. We went with the lariat trim without a ton of options to keep the payload up.

Well the build date keeps slipping and I am sure the blockade at the bridge did us no good. We know have a build date of 24 March. Fingers crossed.

Congratulations on the new truck. From what I've heard the F350 has awesome power. We also have a 23MRB and we love it. I understand about the Cherokee. We had a 1500 and upgraded to a 2500 because it was designed as an actual truck and not as a van with a car engine, trans and chassis.

Congrats on the new truck. Just an FYI the 5th wheel prep is one of the options delaying production at the moment. The parts are ona national backorder status. I have a 2021 F350 7.3 that I grabbed off a dealer lot last June. I was looking to add the 5th wheel prep myself but ended up buying another travel trailer instead of the 5th wheel. I would follow up with your dealer and see if the prep is holding up your build date. It's not too difficult to add after if you are mechanically inclined.

Sounds like you are good to go. I keep up with one of the Super Duty forums and it seems there have been a few slip thru with the fifth wheel prep. The list of things holding up production seems to keep growing though. I watched a video on installing the factory style fifth wheel prep and it is rather straight forward but you do have lift the bed up for access. You would need a lift of some sort.

My truck is my favorite of all I have owned in the past way too many years. My past 2 have been F350's and one of the first things I did was change the shocks. I put a set of Fox 2.0 on this one and the empty ride was noticeably better. Ours has the 3.31 gearing and tows our 14,700 fifth wheel very, very well. The 10 speed transmission is really smooth. It will tow in 10th gear most of the time. It surprised me at how little it downshifts. If the incline is enough it will go to 8th or 7th depending on how steep the incline is but it is hardly noticeable. We have gotten right at 22 mpg on several long solo trips and 10 to 11 towing.

Hope you see it soon. Post a photo when you get it.

Thanks all. Yea the list of what slows down production keeps growing but I thought I had a lot of time. Our first trip is for late May in Grand Marais MI and I really hope we have it by then. Will be nice not to have to watch every ounce of weight like we have to do with the Jeep. I cat scaled it with the Jeep to make sure we were good on weight. Will do the same with the new truck just to know and maybe adjust the WDH.

Hopefully the bugs wont be coming to life at that time up there.
It dont matter if you have the 6.7 Powerstroke or Cummins or a 6.6 Duramax, that diesel is gonna PULL. You could couple the jeep to the back of the 5er and that truck wont know the difference. Lol!
4.5 months of waiting is actually pretty good these days. My uncle ordered an F350 around the same time and his just hit the dealer here friday. He picks it up tomorrow. My buddy ordered a 3500 Silverado on 11/1 and it was built a week and a half ago, has been sitting in the factory lot in Oshawa, Ca and it waiting transport here to the states. Another camping couple of ours ordered a 3500 Denali back in late July and still doesn't have a VIN. No idea on when that one will get built, IF it even gets built.
This supply chain shortage crap is just that, a bunch of crap. Our country has become a country of consumers and not manufacturers like we used to be. Part of the blame can go equally on our current president and the many before him regardless of political party. Most of the blame goes to corporate america greed.
Anyway, getting back on track, congrats on the new truck! Post up some pics when you get it! You're gonna love it!!

Be careful that you get a 5th wheel the meet the payload specs.

Longbed would give higher payload.
