Define 'Best'. Longest lasting v stopping power v dust control. You might get two out of the three. Longest lasting is almost always OEM. Dust control...go with ceramic. I used to race a Corvette, so I went to sintered metalics for that use....shortest stopping distance and good heat control with the right rotors. Longevity and dust were non-issues for that use.
Similarly, I've used the same on my truck with newer products based on reasonable price performance issues. I use Centric rotors front and rear, no drilling or vents since I tend to replace rotors every second pad change, which I change at 3mm pad material left. As an aside, if pads are wearing on the outside more than inside, you have a pin or slide fail. Inside wear, caliper needs replaced since piston is hung. Tapered, the whole caliper has gone sloppy, replace the caliper and perhaps the mount.
For pads, I've gone through several semi-metalics over the years and about 10 years ago I found the RAYBESTOS EHT1015H to be the best bang for the buck since I'm all about stopping and I know how to clean my wheels of dust. Of course, your results may vary. I know a few who tow and like to use EBC and Hawk. Three times the money for pads, rotors way more than most....but since they are 'race' systems folks think they're on to something. Good luck.
