The F350 can be ordered with the 10,000 GVW. That would put it near the F250 diesel in payload.
FWIW, I read an article on Pickuptrucks.com about a 2013 I(IRC) F250 6.7 King Ranch that had a 1972lb payload. A 10,000lb GVW F350 would be about the same.

My payload sticker says 2176lbs.
2102 Ram 2500 CC LB 4x4 CTD. The important number is RAWR @6000lbs. With an empty rear weight of 2950lbs that leaves me with 3150lbs for useable payload.

I am confused. If your payload says 2176 how do you figure you have 3150 for payload?

I use the RAWR minus the empty trucks rear weight. That's how much the rear axle is rated for since the tires are only 3000lbs each.

Payload isn't a function of strictly max axle weight. It relates to transmission strength, braking capacities, as well as many other things. All that number states is the maximum pin weight on the rear axle. Not the same as payload. You have the same type of number for the front axle too.

If you put 3150lbs in your truck you will be ~1000lbs over your GVW regardless of what your axle rating is.

I would never put 3150lb in the bed. I would go 27-2800lbs though. My 2500 is 99% identical to a 3500 except for the rear spring pack. The drive train and frame are good for way more. Only limit is my tires.

Add one spring, each side rear, to the F250 and you have an F350.
My payload is whatever I put in my truck. It's my truck and my only truck so it has no choice but to carry what it is I need carried.

Can't do that to a Ram 2500-3500. The 3500 actually has 4 springs compared to 5 for the 2500. 4 stiffer springs on the 3500 and 5 softer springs on the 2500. Timbens or bags do the same.

I have them on my 2500 too. Love em. Rides stock when empty and the 5er pin weight only drops the rear 1" when hitched.

I wonder why so low? My 3500 Cummins SRW 4x4 is 4075 and I have every option available on the truck...I would have thought the Hemi would have more payload?

Payload is a marketing number. Through the years all these numbers have moved up every year when in fact the basic platform (generations) have only changed a few times. I suppose a different type of paint allows more payload than last years paint color. I think red has the potential to increase payload the most, perhaps green but I can't prove that anymore than the big three can justify why 1/2 tons of 10 years ago are 1 tons today. Its about selling trucks.

Not sure how that is when the frames on today's trucks are completely different than those of just a few years ago. Example - Ram changed their HD frames to 50k psi cold steel and changed the design about 2 years ago...(along with other factors I am sure) jumped their payload way up. But the main component (frame) has changed significantly over the last few years...I think Chevy also uses 50k psi cold steel now as well?
