Treatment for roof?

Hello everyone!! Just starting to get everything going on the camper after this long winter we had this year. I have 2014 Jayco X18D, and love it by the way, but what I was wondering is does anyone treat there roof with anything every year to prevent it from cracking? Thanks for the help!!

I'm assuming that you have a 2014, and as I understand it, recent Jayco models use the "alpha" systems roof materials.

Alpha systems web site suggests that you clean with mild detergent 4x per year. Nothing special needed. In fact that are specific that you NOT use any of the older style roof conditioner products, as they may cause damage to the new type of material used.

Also of note, alpha material needs a different type of sealant/ caulk..... Eg, not the dicor product that has been standard on the older roof materials.

If, you don't have " alpha" material, then use a typical conditioner/ cleaner made specifically for RV roof tops. I did mine 2x a year: spring and fall. Never had a problem in 8 years that I owned a TT

Thetford Premium Rubber Roof Cleaner & Conditioner is an example of of a standard product used on older rubber roofs
