We just bought a 2002 Greyhawk 26ss. On our first outing in it the slide would not open while using the park power system. The only way I could get it to open was to start the engine and the generator (a suggestion of another camper with a similar motor home). Is this normal? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. So far that is the only thing that we had trouble with.
Ditto what Grumpy said. I almost almost always runnt the slides out with the coach plugged in and engine running or atleast with the engine running. I was told by a Jayco rep you are supposed to operate the slides with the engine running, so I do that now. For a while I was not. Not sure if this is good info or not, but I do it.

agree with both grumpy & TX about coach battery. During our PDI, I remember the dealer advising us either operate slides with engine or genset running or being plugged into shore power.
Thanks for the help, but if I understand right the slide out should operate when we are hooked up to shore power. Could the Battery disconnect switch being in the wrong position have anything to do with the problem. It has a brand new battery, but when we tried to open the slide, it caused the battery to discharge.
If you have a bad or weak house battery the converter will not put out enough power to run the slide is the new battery installed correctly ( corrrect polarity)?
