2006 Jayco Greyhawk 30GS water heater by pass

posting for a friend.....Anybody else out there have a 2006 Jayco Greyhawk 30GS? We (just) bought ours from an individual who had little background on the unit and I'm finding the owners manual to be nearly worthless... My question... Where is the hot water heater bypass? The heater is located under the rear wardrobe, but short of using a hammer, the panel that I think should lift right out... doesn't. If I know I'm going about it the right way, I'll apply more "effort". Thanks!

A switch? I hadn't thought of that... I've been looking for valves. But I don't recall seeing a switch either, but I'll look harder. So you have no ready access to the heater other than the outside panel? Thanks for the comment (and thanks gingsnap for posting for me).

Mystery solved... It's where you'd expect it to be, the panel under the wardrobe does remove (with great effort... It's wedged in). Once out of the way it's obvious. They should have cut a finger hold in it... That would have made it both obvious and easy.

Open the wardrobe door and the vertical panel right inside in the door on the bottom has to come out. Once you know it, you can see it doesn't fit tight on the ends and it's kind of obvious... I might have used a screwdriver to pop it out the first time. After that I drilled a finger hole. By the way... that compartment on my Grayhawk was a mouse favorite! I finally shot the corner near the desk full of foam and that stopped that (though I still have a trap in there).

Correct. I'm assuming you have a 2006 Grayhawk 30(gs). The Water Heater is on that very back corner (port aft if you're a sailor) and the bypass is attached directly to it. It's directly under the floor of the wardrobe. The front of the wardrobe is a very thin paneling... I was able to slide it to the side with the palm of my hand and then shine a light in. Smiling back at me (on the right side of the cabinet) were the bypass valves. Pull that paneling out of the way and you're on them.

Happy I could help! I'm impressed that you have no mouse sign in that compartment. As I said, I drilled a hole in the face plate so it's easier to get to now (and will also be easier for the next owner to find the bypass). Nice pictures by the way... I wish I'd thought to do that; it would have sped up your search!
