Yes went directly to the wall. That Mussel double face tape is the real deal. There are several videos on You-Tube, nothing but positive comments. The Mussel tape also serves as a moisture barrier. Of the big box stores Lowe's was the only one who had it. 15 sq. ft. roll $35.00

I just reread all the posts of projects done. Some really cool ideas, now to save the money to do them.

Purchased a new air compressor from Lowes today. My old one was a 15 year old Craftsman that was worn out. It would only barely get to 100psi. Not good when you have tires with 100 psi requirements.
I found a 120v rated for 150psi for $129. got an $11. military discount. I'll take it on this trip.

I finally had time to nerd-out and finish up a nerd project that I'd been tinkering with for a week or so. A couple of years ago, a sudden wind gust pushed us off the interstate and into the ditch. My wife was driving and it's a bloody miracle she kept us upright. And "not dead".

After that, it was one of our jobs to check the NOAA radar app and "Windy.com" to get a heads-up on weather conditions as we drove.

I hated that. I hate having to "pull" (request) information that a computer is completely capable of pulling for me and presenting it to me.

So I finally got to finish it off. I've added a web-page to my RV's webserver that displays the next four hours of weather forecast data, and any weather warnings for >>my current location<<.

I read my Lat/Lon off my GPS and send it over to NOAA for the forecast and alert data for >>where I'm at now<<.

If you're a smidge interested in the deets, I've put up Parts I and II of what I'm calling "Staying out of the ditch"

Part I
Part II

Installed the new sway bar today. Took longer than I thought doing it myself, even supporting it with a jack stand. The Hellwig mounting bracket is two piece and getting that aligned with the safety plus stabilizer bracket took the longest. I think the loadmaster sway bar is a bigger one piece bracket like the stock Ford one. Next week I will see how much change it made ( three hour trip to alignment shop).

And you didn't strip out the passenger-side self-tapper in the bracket? Good for you!!

Second time removing all the bolts. First was for safety plus and now sway bar. Depending what you read Tq spec is different. Roadmaster says 30 big bolts 15 small ones and 60 for links. Ford is different and Hellwig will
not say. I did 40, 20 and 60. Plus blue lock tite. Will recheck after my trip next week.

Never even had a chance to check torque on mine, it stripped out snugging it up.

Totally worth it though when you compare what Ford put on there to the upgrade.

Ford went to a bigger bolt, mine are 18 &15mm socket size. Hopefully the blue lock tite keeps them tight.

Replaced the bathroom vent fan with a Maxxfan 7500. Pretty straightforward. Only nuisance was that the Maxxfan comes with regular screws and they won't go through the existing metal framing around the fan opening that is installed at the factory. Two drill bits later and problem resolved.

Also genny wouldn't start so I checked the house batteries and the +positive terminal on one of the batteries was severely corroded. So I took that all apart and cleaned it up with some baking soda. Genny started right up after that.

Not much of a project, actually pretty easy. I installed a set of Snap Pads on the Greyhawk. Anxious to see if they make as much difference as some claim.

Gave my newish honda 2200i powered by propane a test.
13.5 btu a/c, wife's c-pap, and fridge, converter too.
Micro-air soft start on a/c.
Honda on eco-mod.
Honda hummed like a top for 4 hours without a hiccup.
Bought for no power emergencies. To run a/c and c-pap and rest of stuff on propane.
Very happy with new set up. Prior to the soft start I needed 2 2000i's to run same set up. A/c being the power hungry beast.
Oh, the honda has blue tooth and was able to monitor amp draw. It always stayed below the max 15 amp out put of the 2200i, thus running with no problems.

Still cannot believe Jayco installed driver side drip rail upside down. Dealer is 4 hours away so that’s two full trips and a month wait. I really do not want that complete rail replaced. They will have to drill all new holes and reseal everything. So I installed aluminum angle from the slide awning to the rear end. Installed on an angle and sealed it all in place. Rounded the ends and this should fix the black streak problem. The water just runs over the awning and off of that where there is no rail. Looks great from the ground.

I lowered my MorRyde hitch on the pin one hole, which raised my camper to give me 1- 1/2 inches more clearance over my truck bed. Took it on a test drive around the block to see how it pulled and checked the level.

All ready for a trip next week on this project only.

Finished the doghouse insulation/sound reduction mod. Used 120 mil material, then put the stock fiber board over that. Haven't taken it out for a test yet but I'm sure it will help.

Couldn't believe the factory (Jayco) ran a bundle of wires through the doghouse rubber seal, no effort to tie them up out of the way.

You have a pic of the wire bundle and which side did they run it out of. I have not removed the doghouse on my new unit. But now that you found those wires I might do that. What did you do to fix the wires?

It looked like the wiring that ran to the radio plus a few other misc. wiring. I just used ty-raps to hold the wiring away from the opening of the doghouse. Once the wiring was out of the way the cover slid easily into place.
