Tinted Entry Door Window

Finally got around to installing the tinted door window. Now all the glass on the RV matches. I've never liked that you couldn't see out the door window. This fixes that and looks better too. I had the cab windows tinted a few months ago.

Did you make the door window yourself or did you purchase it ?

I've been complaining about the brightness of the darn door window to where I can't read the GPS cause of the reflection.

Mine's done too it's great to be able to look out. The tinted glass (safety) was less than $20.00 from the local glass house.

When you take the inner frame off you'll see that it's a very close or snug fit so I took the glass into the glass shop and told them to cut it + nothing - 1/16th and it fit perfectly, took 3 days total. Don't be shocked if you see that the original caulking job to keep water out from your sandwiched door panel is sub standard. I'm so glad I did this (mod) because otherwise I never would have found out that it was actually leaking until it was what to late. It would have been so easy to caulk it right the first time as you will see.

Just finished installing my window, took about 40 minutes. Out side of door window now matches rest of windows. When installing in door use pieces of masking tape to hold glass to outer frame and outer frame to door if installing by yourself. I had to tighten the mounting screws about three times as the frame to door seal will slowly compress.

My wife is ready to order once she hears that this isn't the case.

I don't know if they installed it wrong.

I would assume the screen door would be in the way.

On my camper with the main door closed, the screen door is also closed. While there is the little sliding plexi glass hatch in it, not sure if you can open and close the blind with that. I am assuming that is what they mean by they have to open the door to open or close the shade. They have a big screen in the way.

Our window with shade arrived and as soon as it stops raining we'll install. I'm surprised that there are no youtube vids on doing this. My wife said that we could, if it didn't take four hands. Thought the dog could shoot the video but last time we got lots of bird footage.

I want to purchase and install also. How is the shade mounted? inside the window panel or outside of the window and how is the shade raised and lowered. Do you have any pictures? thank you for posting and updating.
