Reliability Report: 2014 Melbourne 29D
We bought this MH new in the summer of 2013. Traded it in for a Precept exactly 3 years later. Put ~16,000 miles on it, spread over a lot of different trips. There were the usual workmanship issues in the first year and by year 3 they had all been fixed by the dealer except of course for the hopeless Girard WH, about which neither the dealer nor Jayco was of any help, didn't seem to have a clue. Oh, and the automatic choke function of the generator never did work. Had to manipulate the rods manually. "Factory trained" tech said he didn't know how to fix it! . . . BUT, insofar as actual FAILURES were concerned, in the entire three years there was only one: There was a hard failure of the electronics control board for the electric steps, which was quickly changed out. So I would conclude that overall the RELIABILITY was very good.
