That does not sound normal. Are you talking about the main door or compartment door? Sounds like something is slightly out of alignment and that would be a warranty issue.
Yes, the main door. We are fulltimers and it will be about 6 weeks before we can get it to a dealer so I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem or if there is something we can do ourselves.

We never slam the door to close it. We always pull the latch out and pull/push the door shut. You should be able to adjust the latch on the door frame. The latch is slotted for adjustment. Slamming the door will often cause the latch to move in toward the trailer and out of reach of the bolt.

Adjust the strike plate out about 1/16" and check that you screen door latch is not interfering with the two coming togther. If you attach your screen door to the main door and the problem is still present adjust the strike plate until it works properly. You don't want it too loose or you will risk water intrusion.
