LCI Ground Control 3.0 Issue Solved (hopefully)
Thought I would post another experience with the 3.0 system. Since taking delivery of my Eagle 293 RKDS last August I have not been able to "Auto Level". I always got the "Auto level fail" error. If I "zero" calibrated the system it would work until I moved the camper, even just around the block, then I would get the error of "Auto level fail". Not having any confidence in my dealer fixing this, I called Lippert. The first technician asked me to check the amount of time it was taking to level, he thought it might be a issue of the system "timing out". I did some trials and called Lippert back with the results. The second technician asked me about the problem I was having and really didn't seem to care about the time issue. He then told me about the imperative mounting orientation of the front control module and REAR sensor. I didn't even know there was a rear sensor. He told me that it would be behind the rear axle in the underbelly somewhere, that it should be mounted on the frame and it must be correctly oriented. Markings on the module would show which way is UP and which way faces Forward. I dropped part of the plastic belly pan and looked in, guess what? The idiot who installed the module screwed it to a piece of lumber and left it laying loose on the belly pan. See photo! I attached it to the frame , in the correct orientations, and walla it worked. Hopefully that is the end of my problem, time will tell. Maybe this will help someone else that might be having a problem.

Was there an attempt to mount it, or did it fall off from some poor mounting?

No holes in the piece of wood, no strapping or anything that would indicate they tried mounting, so I would say no attempt, just left laying on the underbelly

That is just sad on Jayco's part. Hope that solves it for you and thanks for sharing.

I hope you called Jayco corporate offices and raised the roof! They know by your ser. # when the unit was built and who was on the line. This is just another example of "hurry up and get this thing out the door" mentality and LAZINESS on someone's part and they should be taken to task for it. Maybe if we all would pursue things this way Jayco would finally start listening and do a little better on QC!

Glad you got it fixed. Often the things we fix ourselves can help many who I read are having lots of problems using these leveling systems. Sure hope it helps someone because I had resolved to never have one due to all the bad things I read.

I just built and priced a new Eagle online the other day and after everything I've read, I don't think I'd pay for this option. It hasn't been that hard to level my 5th.

I would not have either, but it came with the mandatory options. Have not figured that out yet either, if it's mandatory, then how is it an option?

Wow.... one guy or gal not caring and doing their job can literally destroy a brand. How many units are like this kind of sort of working on a good day. Lci spent money on making something cool for us and a few people cab almost kill it.
I also feel jayco should actually test stuff before shipping there really is no excuse not to.
