Lubing electric landing gear

So, my landing gear motor keeps popping a fuse when extending for more that 10 seconds at a time, retracting there's no problem, so I manually cranked on it to extend the legs and it's pretty smooth but tight. I decided to research how to lube the jacks and it can be done using a 1"I'd hose 30" long and run it up from the bottom of the jack after removing the foot, then remove the cover and pack the spider gears with grease, has anyone on here done this before? Saw videos on you tube and it looks doable just wonder how good it is at actually getting grease where it needs to be.
