Pinnacle receiver hitch

I know from what I've heard this hitch is not recommended for any type of towing. More for installing a shelf for adding cargo. How many use it? thinking about adding the shelf and using it to haul my Oklahoma Joe Smoker...

We have a north point and we use ours for a bike rack. I believe the receiver has a 300 pound limit so keep that in mind.
