We are getting our 5th wheel (Jayco-Northpoint 2016) ready for spring camping and the service panel (GFCI outlet) keeps tripping. We have nothing turned on, but as soon as we plug it in, it trips. Any ideas on what would cause this?
GFCI plugs do go bad, try another outlet on that same circuit and see if it trips. could also be a loose wire connection on the backside of the outlet.

If it powers up on a non-GFCI I would want to make sure there isn't some type of ground fault present. That could be dangerous if it causes a "hot skin" condition.

But if he's using a 15 to 50 adapter that could be causing the problem with the GFI.
Start simple. Plug just the shore cord in with the trailer end disconnected. If it holds turn off all the breakers in the trailer and connect the cord. It if holds, turn on one breaker at a time until it trips. The issue would be on that circuit.
We took it to an RV Repair shop up the road and when they plugged it in, everything worked! The outlet was not a GFCI outlet though. We bring it back home and instead of plugging it into the 50 amp outlet, I try our 110 outlet (GFCI) and it pops. I plug it into a non- GFCI outlet and it WORKS.
