2013 WhiteHawk 26RKS stripped lug nut

Hi,
We purchased the trailer last month. The dealer had replaced one tire on it(reason unknown) they really mashed up the heads of the lug nuts, for starters, and I didn't notice this until we brought it home. My husband checked the torque prior to our trip last week to find, the knucklehead at the dealer had stripped one of the lugs! Any ideas on how to get the stripped nut off? I know the dealer will probably want nothing to do with it, now we've bought it! Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I'd start with the dealer and see what they have to say. If that won't work, I'd call Discount Tire (they've been very good to me over the years!) and see what they have to say about a fix.

And speaking of tires, check the date code to see how old your TT tires are. If they are 4 or more years old but still look good (good tread, no bulges, and no sign of sidewall cracking), begin making plans to replace them.

Try putting some vice grips on it and pulling while turning. Even if you get the nut off you'll have to take the brake drum off then then replace the stud in the hub.
If the dealer balks then call around to a tire shop or even an independent RV repair shop.

By stripped do you mean rounded off the lug nut itself or is the wheel stud stripped?

Is it the nut itself or the chrome cover on the nut? If it is just the chrome cover then you can try cutting the cover off, or get a metric socket which is a bit smaller and jam it on then try to loosen the nut. If it is the nut itself then you can get a small drill bit drill through the nut then take a chisel and split the nut.. it's a job but can be done. Hope this helps

As said above, I suggest talking with the dealer. You don't say if the TT us new or pre-owned. If new they should cover it under warranty, if it's not new then... Is the damaged lug on the tire they replaced?
