Eternabond voiding warranty?
I'd like to go ahead and do the Eternabond on my roof. If I do this before my 2 year warranty period is up will it potentially allow Jayco to void a claim for warranty that might come up involving the roof? Should I maintain with Dicor for the first 2 years and then Eternabond?

Are you trying to fix a leak or just being proactive? If it's just proactive I'd wait until the warranty is out. If it's leaking or you are fixing a problem I'd take it in and have it serviced under warranty.

It would be proactive. This is a new camper, not yet delivered. I've used eternabond on my other trailers, but not during the warranty period. But, it would be nice to have that extra peace of mind.

Had Eternabond on mine and it went in for some loose staples under the roofing material under warranty. No problem.

Should be no warranty issue. Under federal law, you can do reasonable changes, and the manufacturer cannot void the warranty. If you have anever issue, they are only required to repaired to factory specifications.
I would do it now, before issues arrise, and the roof is fairly clean.

I believe roof maintenance is the purchaser's responsibility so unless the Owner's Manual states to use only Dicor, I would think EternaBond would be a safe choice.

I spoke to Jayco about this very fact. The had no official stance on any brand of roof tape. I was told since they recommended two inspections a year any leak at a roof seam after 6-months is the owners responsibility anyway. I went ahead and put Eternabond tape on my roof. This is my sixth season and it looks like new.

I did a 6" band across the roof/cap seam. I will be doing 4" tape around the entire perimeter and all of the cutouts. It's self defense, baby! Every man for himself with these critters. An once of prevention . . .

I like the belt an suspenders of etearnabond over the sealant. But - my sealant is about 1/4 inch thick or more with an edge like a cliff down to the roof material.
How would I get the air out of edge of the roof/sealant meeting point?

One suggestion. If you plan on replacing any roof vent fans or skylights, do that before you apply the EternaBond. Cuz it's a bear trying to peel the Bond off. Ask me how I know .

This is why I am considering Eternabond only on the perimeter and across the front cap seam. I think I will stick with Dicor around the fixtures...

That's what I did. I applied the tape across the front cap seal and the rear seams. Also did the fridge vent. I'm not doing the shower skylight [in case of replacement] or any of my roof vents because I've had Maxxair vents on since day one and the caulk underneath looks brand new.

The only warranty that I would be concerned with is the rig's OEM warranty. The 12 year roof warranty isn't worth worrying about. My 5 year old rubber roof membrane failed (water leaking through the membrane) and I was offered $225.00 as total compensation from the roof manufacturer and only then if I used their rubber material for replacement - No Thanks.
Check my previous posts from late December 2015 until early 2016 for the details. My RV Flex Armor roof is now a year and a half old and zero issues to worry about now.

I have heard of dealers who will apply it for you on a new rig for a price.
