Grey Water Overflow?
On our last trip, we had water and electric hookups but no sewer. On the fourth day I noticed the lights indicated the gray water tank was full, but since it was in the morning of our last day I did not worry about it. A couple hours later, as I was preparing to pull out, I noticed water dripping from under the trailer near the axles. I have the 27DSRL White Hawk with the Summit Edition which means I cannot see the tanks or pipes. Does anyone know if here is an overflow that allows grey water to vent off when the tank is overflowing, or do I have a leak that I need to take to the dealer to investigate?

It shouldn't be leaking underneath. If the grey tank gets too full, water will start to pool in the shower/tub since that's the lowest drain closest to the tank.

Never saw a black or gray tank that vents underneath. The vent out the roof or via a "Studor" type vent in a cabinet.
Gray water leaking out underneath is likely in need of some kind of repair. Now if it's fresh water they do sometimes overflow out the bottom. Taste it and see if it's gray, black or fresh water.

Is the water dripping out from a vent or overflow hose or through some random cracks?

Sometimes the vent pipe is just stuck in the top of the tank. If it fills up, it could overflow and drip a little.
Ours just backs up in the shower as previously stated. I would have the dealer look at it just to get it documented.

Everytime my grey tank is over full it backs up into my tub.

Somehow my wife and I managed to fill our grey water tank overnight. Two short showers, some dishes washed and hands washed. Filled up a lot faster than I expected.

That unit shows a 30 gal gray tank. That's kind of small but you should be able to get 3-4 day out of it if you take Navy showers and use a dishpan for washing dishes. Sounds like your short showers may not have been short enough.
I've found that showers tend to be shorter when you use the water tank instead of the shore water connection. Something about that water pump coming on tends to make you move a little faster.

This is true. Definitely did not take Navy showers. And we now have a dishpan for dishes, but we did not before. We need to get a shower head with an on/off lever. That's how we did it when I camped as a kid.

If you plan on camping without sewer hooks up but maybe a dump station near by you should look into one of these
rv tote tanks - Walmart.com

At some point we'll be doing some dry camping and need one. I don't think we're close to that though. We have a lot to learn and buy before we do.
Thanks for the advice.

Well when it's time, well worth the insurance. There's nothing worse than a full black water tank and no dump station.

We use a dishpan in the sink when washing dishes and then dump it into the black tank via the toilet. The sudsy water helps the black tank from becoming aromatic and it keeps the grey tank from filling up so fast.
My wife and I recently spent six nights at a state park with no sewer hookup. After both showering and using the RV facilities all six days, neither the black nor grey tanks were full yet. They were getting close, but not quite.

To funny, never hope to have to resort to the taste test in this matter.
