How much RV antifreeze do I need?

We purchased a 2016 27BHS. Anyone out there know how many gallons of antifreeze it will take to winterize the trailer?

Most owners report somewhere between 2 and 3 gallons of the pink stuff. They often have it in stock at the local Walmart this time of year.
Even ours two miles down the road and temperatures here don't drop below freezing.

You can do it with 2 but I use 4. I first blow out the lines with 50psi of compressed air, then push antifreeze through all the pipes. You want to make sure you get a good amount flowing out of your taps into the sinks and tub so your P traps get filled, as well as some in the bowl of the toilet to keep the seal from drying out. I also like at least a gallon in each holding tank (except fresh) to keep the seals on the dump valve wet and overall keep the tank from drying completely out. For the extra couple bucks a year I feel it's worth doing an overkill job if you know what I mean.

Does anyone drain their P traps first? Just thought of that now.

Just did our White Hawk 27dslr and used just under 3 gallons.
I can do it with 2 but had some left over already opened...

3 gallons in my rig is plenty.

I can do mine with 1 gallon and with what I saved from last season's drain off ( low point drain into a 5 gal. bucket) it's still pure antifreeze, I put that in my P traps (3) and toilet.

This is where I use the antifreeze and also my sanitizing solution at the beginning of my camping season.

It gets way below zero at our altitude so any mistake would show itself in the spring. I don't blow out the lines, just run faucets until the pink runs bright. Do the outside shower, then dump what's left of the 2nd gallon into the p traps and toilet. Never did anything to the city water inlet the first few years, but have never had a problem.

Should add, left the Rockies in September, now South of LA, near the ocean!

2-3 gallons in my WH28DSBH does the job. I always blow the lines first just to be safe (only takes a few minutes).

How much RV antifreeze do I need?

I winterized my 26BH a few weekends ago. I blew the lines out good prior to putting the pink antifreeze in the lines. It used less than 2 gallons and I put the extra left from the 2nd gallon and an 3rd gallon in the (3) traps, black/gray tanks and toilet.

After doing all of this, I remembered the technician during my walk through saying something about removing a screen or something from one of the hose connectors. I don't remember though why he told me about that, or if it even had to do anything with blowing out the lines?? Does anybody remove anything from a hose connector prior to blowing out the lines? I hope I did not damage anything. Maybe it was a back flow valve or something?

We took the screen out and pressed a button in the city water inlet connection! Be careful, we left the pump on, and it sprayed all over us!

This might be what I was thinking about. What is the button for? Is it a vent?

We read it on this thread: "Winterization Questions and Comments." JLoco added the comment on page 2 of the thread. I would add make sure your pump is off when you do this because DH got a faceful of the pink stuff!

You need to remove the city inlet screen and burp the one way valve (push little stem behind the screen) until some of the pink stuff squirts out.

About 2.5 gallons for our 33RBTS. Plus a little more poured into the P-traps.
