Outside shower key
Here's a dumb one. I thought I'd take a look at the shower but found that neither of the door keys or the storage key opened it. What's up? Do they stash it somewhere in the trailer and we missed it on the PDI? :dunce:

Mine was the same as the storage door keys.

It should be the same one as the storage doors, probably the dreaded #751 key that will open over half of all RV storage doors in the country. Is it just a little tight and will not turn or will it not even fit in the lock? I never could figure out why they put a lock on the shower door but not the fresh water access. Someone deranged enough could easily sabotage your fresh water supply. I don`t know who would steal a shower hose, no value there.

Does anyone have a good and reasonably priced alternative to replacing the # 751 locks with a set of locks all keyed alike? I priced a set through Granger last year and realized it would nearly be cost prohibitive to get a set of 6 or 7 keyed alike.

Anything from Grainger is prohibitively expensive.

True, Jeannie but so far, that's the only place I found that had matching sets......got to say I got discouraged after that and quit looking. Hoping there is another outlet for these locks.

Thanks for the info, Terry. I haven't seen these before but will take a good look at them...they appear to be what I am looking for and at a decent price.

The only thing I have keyed is my entry door. I convert all the storage locks to keyless. They are a PIA!

I'll try that storage again. couldn't even begin to get it into the keyhole. Maybe squirting graphite on it will help.

cekkk, I have found that at least one of my storage locks is mounted upside down from the rest of them and I always have to remember to reverse the key on that particular lock. It will go in OK but obviously will not turn. They seem to be getting worse even though I keep the RV in a covered dry storage. I am going to try graphite as well. It's got to make them a little better.

Talk to a locksmith. S/he might be able to come up with a matching set for you that has a unique key pattern.

I'll go down to the barn today and let you know if I got it open.

I'm the OP. I cannot tell you how hard I tried to get the *&(& cargo key into the keyhole. It would not even start, as though the key were wider than the hole. Took DW down to the barn yesterday after an ATV ride around the neighborhood (illegal, yeah, but in over an hour we encountered not one vehicle), asking her to give it a shot. Took her about two seconds. I KNOW I loosened it up!

You do know that its the skinny end that you stick into the hole and not the big round end....right????

If you were talking to that lock prior to her opening it you must have loosened it up. Either that or she talks a lot nicer to it than you did.
