Seasons almost gone
Man, I really hate the end of summer. Hate putting the camper in hibernation for the winter. We did not get to use our camper much this summer. One long weekend and one driveway. Hoping to get another driveway in. Who has more trips planned. Was this past weekend your last trip, where did you go, post pictures. Anyone doing any winter camping this year, where. I like camping when it gets cold at night, or when its pouring rain at night or evening. Really relying on the camper to keep your family warm and protected from the elements. That's why some of us buy these nice campers our rolling Vacation Home. That's what I call mine. This summer went so fast really feel like did not have many chances to go camping. I did wash the camper many times. Who else feels like they did not use there camper enough this season. Well sorry for the long post. But please add what you want, just sad seasons coming to end

We go out with a bang. The Annual Homeowners' Association Meeting and FOTA happen on the last full weekend of September.
There is something special to Autumn camping. Very cool nights with warm, shortening days.

We are heading out 10/7 to Cherrystone, VA for their Halloween celebration. Then at least one or two more weekend trips through mid Nov. Love camping when the weather gets a little cooler! Awesome campfire time!

I still have a Moose hunt and a Caribou hunt to attend to. One late this month and one in late October.

Winter doesn't keep us home and I'm just 20 minutes from the Canadian Boarder. As long as I-5 is open were free to head south or the west coast of Oregon and California when we feel like it. At RV parks all you really need is heat or let's say electric. Most are open all year and as long as they have facilities " we're in ".

We have all of the next 2 months booked up and will be booking November this week. We stay home in mid summer based on the miserable heat and the overcrowding in the mountains until school starts back. But once school starts we head out. Christmas in a camper should be everyone's goal IMHO.

I think most places near me here in Upstate New York close after this past weekend. It would be hard to find somewhere here to camp. My driveway however is open all year round. Got the fire pit out back the pool is still open. Just wish it was in another location, LOL. But it will work.

Our season will end early this year, due to other commitments this fall. Not sure which weekend will be our last, but it is usually around Nov 1st. Only because I do not want to pull it in the snow. Actually I do not want to stop it on the snow.

All RVer's are packing up and headed this way for six months.
The big RV show in Quartzsite, AZ this year will be something to see.

this year we only went twice camping, and maybe 10 times to the cottage, rest of the time was spent renovating our new house we bough in the spring... I just hope next summer will be more quiet!

We have 2 more trips planned. One in the high country, another down in the plains. We usually get periods of really nice weather during the winter, so I have no problems pulling the camper out of storage and dry camping. I refuse to acknowledge that the season is ever really over.

Pack your passport and head north of the border. Maybe half of the Ontario grounds closed last weekend, but many are still open until your Columbus Day (our Thanksgiving). The St. Lawrence Parks Commission has several CG's with full hookups that aren't too far away from most points in Upper NYS. Reservations are generally much easier after Labor Day.

We still have 2 long weekends planned for September at least 2 in October. Our last trip will likely be Halloween weekend.

Our seasonal park closes columbus day, so we have another 5 weeks! I'm sure we'll go down most if not all 5 weekends with a few extra days in between.

We usually camp local until November or so... then the state parks close down for the winter. We've gone to NYC for a post Thanksgiving trip before, and I hope to do another one this year. We usually try to go to Florida in February for a couple weeks to visit friends and enjoy the Gulf and warmer weather while it snows back home. By April we start going camping locally again.
Usually the camper doesn't sit vacant for longer than 3 months between November and February. This year we are likely not going to Florida (new assignment at work, harder to take multiple week vacations), so the trailer might sit a little longer. We are still debating a 7-10 day trip down to Savannah or Charleston in February though!
Fall camping is my favorite though. We go to state parks in Maryland or southern PA with a group of friends, enjoy the changing of the leaves, campfires and letting the kids run around together outside. Cool crisp nights and brisk mornings by the campfire are always welcome!!!

This is when our camping season really ramps up. I've got 3 trips reserved already for the next month and a half. Work slows down, the rest of the world seems to be busy with school (our kid isn't in school yet) so the CGs are less crowded, the weather's just fine. That's my favorite part of this time of year, the weather. It's just so darn hot down here all summer, it's SUPER nice to get out and be able to spend some time outside. We'll hit it hard all the way into February before we put the trailer to bed for a few months. Unfortunately, that's our busy season at work. The weather is great that time of year too. There's really only a handful of weekends when the weather is a real deterrent. If not for "workload compression", we would camp all year long and only winterize the trailer when absolutely necessary.
In the last 3 years, I've had to cancel one trip due to weather. It was in the winter and we were expecting sleet and high winds for our area on our travel day. Had it been during our trip (not during travel time) we probably still would've gone. But there are just some weather events I won't tow in if I don't have to (wind and ice, bad).
