I really don't want to go to the 11-hole shank because it's more than I'll need, and I don't want ground clearance issues.

FWIW for others following along, BlueOx has excellent customer service. I spoke to a very nice lady a few weeks ago who was able to answer all my questions and was very helpful.
Ok here are a few pics. Hopefully they are close enough. It's about 23 3/4'"s. If you need a better pic or different angle let me know and I'll try. Sorry they're sideways.

Thanks. I'm kind of quiet person but I usually say hi when passing people's site's. I just don't usually ask if they are on here. I should.

How do you like the RTIC cooler? My wife's friend has one and loves it. I've read they outperform YETI's and are less expensive. I'm rocking an old igloo with wheels lol...

That's perfect! Thank you!

ETA: that's about 1" lower than mine. Looks like the 9-hole might be just the ticket for me!

Sorry for the delay...

I believe (my guess only) based on what Jayco told me..

"Awning toppers are not an option on this model so there will not be backing in the wall construction to attach the topper too."

...that there is not true backing there, with that said I would believe there is "enough" based on other research (not scientific) I have done.

I have seen Toppers on fiberglass sided 28BHBE's (BigJohnD's and now SouthCo's) and believe being Wood and Glass they have more bite for the screws plus the sealant probably helps work as an adhesive, which would be the same on a Aluminum sided trailer.

With that said I did get schematics from Jayco and the body of the camper itself has a nice size header going across it but the Slide is where I am more worried as it does not appear to have a nice header beam although the slide schematic they sent me is not for our exact slide (I can tell by the window cutouts).

I will take a run at installing one on mine but so far have not found the free time to do so with all the Camping we have been doing, regular work and other commitments.

If you would like a copy of the schematics I have (10 PDF's) PM me your email address and I will gladly send them to you.

So I bought the Swagman Trailhead RV 4. The horizontal bar that slides in to the camper's receiver hitch was a little too short and the vertical bar would hit the spare. I didn't want to move the spare so I bought some 2" x 2" x 1/4" wall, 24" length steel square tube and made my own horizontal bar. It was really nothing more than drilling the holes and painting it. Everything worked great on our last trip two weeks ago.

edit: It's hard to tell in the pic but I have enough room to get the spare off without removing the rack. I didn't want any extra steps in the event I needed the spare on the road...

I'm liking it a lot. A friend of mine has a Yeti and an RTIC and he prefers the RTIC. Who'd figure??

Now, I want a Sovaro in black but momma said uh uh! LOL

My dealership had not problems installing a slide topper on my aluminum sided trailer. The trailer comes from the factory with a rail mounted to the wall above the slide for the topper to slide into.
