My battery line fuse is a tad more than what rating my converter/charger is. i.e. my PD9260C is a 60AMP charger unit and my inline fuse is an 80AMP type. Probably should be lower but that was what I had at the time...
If you are just going to have one battery than usually a 30AMP is the rating... All that a 12VDC battery is ever going to draw is around 20AMPS each if your max BOOST charge current is 14.4VDC. The fuse is there to protect the wiring...
