Whats new for JayFlight in 2012?
Was playing on RV Direct today and noticed they have the 2012s online. Wondering what all they are changing for the new model year - have not been able to find a brochure yet.
So far I see noticed there are a lot more options on the Jayflight than there used to be. What I think is new (could be wrong) --
- They added an "Elite Package"
Package Includes: 8 cu ft Refrigerator, Hardwood Refrigerator Insert, Pillowtop Mattress, Power Tongue Jacks and Aluminum Rims (N/A 36BHDS)
- added a "Technology Package"
Package Includes: 26: LCD HDTV and Premium Multi-Media Sound System w/CD/DVD Player. N/A on 33RLDS with Ledgestone Fireplace Option
- added a "satellite kit" option - not sure what this is?
- Dont remember these options being available either - Power Awning, Outside Grill is back as an option, Roof Ladder
- There are a couple of other things that look new as well.

So I got to playing a little more on RVDirect....
This is pure speculation on my part, but it looks like the G2 line might be discontinued based on their web site.
It almost looks to me like they are making the Swift the base line and the Jayflight the main line with a bunch more options to where you can basically turn it into what was a G2 or better.

At one time a few years back I had heard they were gonna discontinue the standard Jayflight and just go with the G2. But the standard Jayflights were selling so good that did not happen. In fact its been said that the Jayflight is the # 1 selling TT in N America. And it is the leader in votes in the ongoing the TT poll. Looks like they may be going with the Swift and Jayflight lines instead if this new info bears out.
On edit after poking around the RVdirect site myself, as tafische says it does appear the G2 line has been discontinued for `12. The Jayflight will be available with a whole list of options you can now pick and choose from to your taste. The Swift is only available in a few of the old Jayflight models though, what was the 19BH and the 26 BH. Prices seem to be a bit higher on the site and picking up from their facilities used to be no charge and now it is 895.00 from the Albany facility for example. I suppose fuel prices may have something to do with that.

We looked at both the Jayflight and the G2 versions. We wanted something under 30ft. That only left a few in the G2 and some in the regular Jayflight. For the price difference between the 2 and the floorplan we liked we went with the Jayflight series. We love it, got a great deal(we still shake our heads how we did it) and it fits our needs. When we ordered ours, there were only 4 options we could choose from. There are several more options now but we have upgraded some of those on our own.

The last time I was checking out the trucks my computer froze when I hit $62K. My toshiba knows when I am well past my limit and cuts me off.

Crabman, like I said, "I was well past my limit". Buying them is easy, the paying part is long and hard.

We had picked out a 28 R 2011 model, and then decided to wait for the 2012. Only to find out that the 28R is discontinued...
We will end up getting the 28bhs with the elite package I guess...
It has a few things I am not so keen on like a heat vent right in the middle of the floor.. But I guess we can adjust...

The heat vent in the middle of the floor has not been an issue for us. I think you will be happy with the 28BHS which is basically the same floorplan as the 28R.
The 2012 Jayfeather 28R is still showing up on the Jayco website, has it just recently been discontinued or is the website lagging again in its information?
