Soon to be full timers in our 07 322fks
My wife and I will be starting our new lifestyle in about 18 months or so. We have discussed replacing our 07 322fks with a larger fifthwheel constructed with full timing in mind. But, we dont want to go into debt nor do we want to wait longer to save the cash to upgrade. I bought our Jayco new in March of 07 and it has been completely trouble free. I believe it to be built well enough to hold up to full time living for several more years. I have maintained it meticulously and it is like new. We did live in it for 5 months a couple of years ago while we were building our house and had no problems. I will be making some upgrades and improvements in the next 18 months to make it more suitable to be our home. Anyway, I like opinions from others that may be full timing in an Eagle travel trailer. By the way I tow with an 05 Dodge 2500 quadcab diesel that I don't drive daily. I've kept the miles low by using it mainly to tow the Eagle. Thanks.

Hey Lonestarbike! Welcome to the forum. If you get a chance, come on over to the new member area and introduce yourself! We have several full timers around here who should be able to give you some good advice.

I've spent some time in our 08 and love the layout and really can see using it for years as a FT home.
Welcome to the forum.

Lonestarbike, if your trailer is in good condition why no use it for a year before making a decision? That way you will know more about what your needs will actually be.

We were fulltimers for 8 years, not in a travel trailer, but one recommendation is not to overload. We found that we didn't need half the stuff we tried to carry. Many tt and fifth wheels on side of road with tire problems. Just a thought.

Hi. I am kicking around the idea of fulltiming. Selling the house and the "stuff".
I was wondering if, at the age of 60 and 62 (my other half) that we are too old to fulltime now?? (We are both in excellent health) (And don't act our age. haha)
Thanks for answering a dumg question.

We know several full timers in their 70's. They are happy and have no regrets.

You guys are youngsters!! Go for it!!
We are 'a little' older than you but we will not be going out 12 months a year...we are looking at 4-6 months at a time at least to start with.

I retired at 67 and have been fulltiming for 13 plus years- My child bride [#2] was 54 at the time so we workcamped to make it work financially- So far, we haven't looked back but we are searching for "Utopia"- Utopia being where do we finally park the unit- Can't see us in cold snow country in the winter or in Ax. or Tx. in the summer- The problem is our kids [hers and mine] live in Iowa where it snows- Maybe we'll get lucky and break down in "Utopia"- Go ahead and try the lifestyle now for as long as you can be away from your job- Then decide if it's in the cards for y'all- JMHO- DD
