Custer State Park SD Reviews

Wife and I along with Ginger the Wonder Dog would like opinions on campgrounds in Custer State Park in SD. We will have been on the road and have visited Yellowstone, Cody, WY and Mt. Rushmore.

Looking for a place to relax for a few days before heading home.

Full hookups, and laundry would be nice. Shade, privacy, animal viewing are what would interest us.

Thanks,
Steve

We tend to stay at "Stockade South", I really like this CG. No full hookups, there is a dump station. I know there was electric at some sites, but I do not recall if there was a water bib at each site or not.

I like this camp, fairly quiet, easy access to every thing and every where. You can take off and take the back road and get to the wildlife loop, quite quickly, just look at a local detail map.

This is one of my favorite areas, wish I lived closer.

Made reservations for 3 days at Blue Bell. Looking at the various sites on google maps it seemed like the one with the most trees and things to do nearby.

We will be there over Labor Day weekend, I asked for a specific site and had to settle on a different one as there were only 3 sites left. Surprised that it was almost booked up solid in January.

Best,
Steve
