I'd say 'bad idea' to completely waive the entrance fee. Set all parks to $1 per carload would be a better choice.


As the article mentions, people will care a bit more if they "have some skin in the game".

Fee is minimal and included in your camping fee. Free often leads to people not using a resource in a responsible way. State Parks cg's and for sure Fl state parks are full or near full most of the time. We had to make reservations almost a year in advance to get the site we wanted.

The proposed free entry is for the entry fee only, not the charge for camping.

I am pretty sure the fee is waived if you are a registered camper.
