Natchez Trace

The DW and I are planning to visit/tour the Natchez Trace soon. We'll start in Nashville and follow the trace all the way to Natchez Mississippi.

Has anyone done this recently who could provide any tips/pointers? While I've already gathered a lot of information, it's always helpful to hear from others who have already been there done that.

Been there done that. We started at the southern end. And like the blue Ridge Parkway we got bored real quick, that's just us.
Nice for a while but it starts looking all the same to us.
Your milage may very. I'd say go for it and enjoy.

We rode the Trace on a motorcycle once. It is a beautiful ride starting out but like mentioned above it all starts to look the same. There are some nice camping spots along the way.

I did it a few years ago and enjoyed it. If it's going where you want to go, it's even better. It's one of the few places you can drive slowly and not be in the way, as the speed limit is low. Fifty?

Of course, if you enjoy history, and know the function of the Trace...even better.

I enjoyed it. We planned stops and did stop and did not make the usual error of just keep driving.

Thanks for the replies. We do plan on taking our time and seeing as much as possible. We will also be extending our trip a bit by visiting family in Nashville and Florence, AL. We'll then be heading to Houston to visit friends.
