Traveling to Natural Bridge Va

We are traveling from eastern NC to Natural Bridge Va this weekend and can't decide which way to go. On Mapquest all routes within 15 min of each other. There is a 70 mile difference between routes.

1) Get on 95 at Rocky Mount to Richmond and get on 64. We have never been through Richmond so don't know what to expect. This is longest route. We would travel alone.

2).Take 264 to 540 to Durham and get on 86. Go north and get on 29 and then get on 501 in Lynchburg. 501 looks slow, hilly, and winding until you get through mountains. How is this drive? It is the shortest route. If we go this route we can meet up with friends in Raleigh and travel together.

We are pulling 43' fifth wheel.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks.

I 95 to 288 to I 64 will bypass Richmond.

288 is in Chester VA.

If US 460 is a route it is pretty decent.

95 to 288 to 64 worked out well and was a very easy drive. Especially since there was a Pilot right before 288.

Thanks

Glad it worked out. That Pilot is 3 miles from the house
