Anti theft devices

Hi all. Plan on doing a lot of boondocking with our new trailer. What do you use for deterring thieves from trying to steal your unit when away from your campsite. I would hate to come back from a day sight seeing and our new trailer is gone.
Thanks in advance.

Get the best coupler hitch lock you can afford.

Take a trailer wheel off and carry it with you.

Chain two wheels together with a big lock on it.

Let a real bad dog sleep in the trailer while you are gone.

Have good theft insurance.

Stealing the trailer or some of your stuff?

I keep my trailer beside my house and will keep slides out and use BAL chocks on wheels. I also made a lock collar that is very visible from the road. Maybe the easiest thing I do though if you have a power jack, is to pull the fuse and hide the handle.

Jay, I started to order that lock and I got to wondering just how many of the little round master lock keys will fit it.

Here's what I use, a 3/8" square cut security chain, thru the rim, and around the leaf spring. I place the lock under the trailer where it would be harder to hit or pick. Not foolproof but better than most hitch locks, IMO.

Ok how prevalent are RV thefts when Boondocking. I agree to not tempt fate. We just purchased a 145RB which anyone with a minivan or larger can steal I believe in defense in layers, If the place don't feel right go some place else, visible hitch lock is the first, take a tire off lock it under the trailer or in the trailer, take the lug nuts with you much easier then messing with the spare tire. 2 trail cams, one set low to catch the tag of the offender the other to cover the site with a sign on the front of the camper explaining that they are being recorded and that "We are not going to let you take our camper signed Don, Debbie, Smith and Wesson. This worked well with my pop-up.
