I have a non adjustable WPR set at 50psi. I also carry a water pressure gauge. This last weekend we went to a camp ground and I checked the pressure at spigot before connection TT, it was almost 100 psi. So yes, you do need to check and you do need a water pressure regulator (WPR)
45-50 seems to be the norm

Tks for the info. I have been using the high flow non adjustable but wanted to upgrade. So if I adj say to 60psi and go to campgrounds with different pressures I assume it will stay at 60 psi or lower if pressure is lower. Since u have seen 100 psi before do u have a stand alone guage? Or do u crank up the pressure with the water to Rv unhooked to see the campground pressure and than adjust from there?
Tks

Also some campgrounds water pressure can fluctuate, so you cannot really go by just checking before hooking up to water......

I had bought a 40 psi fixed regulator (pressure was horrible with it), but ended up removing after I spoke to the CG owner who assured me the CG pressure never goes above 50. I have a guage and tested my seasonal site. Pressure runs about 45/50psi without any regulating. I have no complaints about pressure since removing the regulator.
While pressure can fluctuate, hooking up a gauge prior to hooking up your rig can give you a ball park idea on the CG pressure.

Adjustable water pressure regulator
I carry a water pressure gauge in my water box. I hopefully mis-read your question about the pressure regulator. It lowers the incoming pressure to the setting. If it's below 50psi, that's all you get. I have a pressure gauge permanently in the incoming supply on the camper side of the regulator so I don't always check the hose bib pressure because it's connected to the Cg supply directly.
I do not adjust the regulator after it is set initially. Mine is a Watts 3/4 in from Lowes.

I have our pressure regulator set for 40PSI, which is also where the CG has their water pressure set to. Has worked fine so far. I added a cut-off valve for when we leave the TT for any extended length of time, since we saw water pouring out of a .5M $$$ motor home.

I try to remember to shut my water off when I lv also but that is hard to do. Since we have been living full time waiting on new house I did this. I took my SimpliSafe alarm with me and have the front door, one motion sensor and four water sensors mounted in my unit. I had my toilet drip a few drops and it hit my sensor. My cell told me and the alarm company called. I called the park and they shut my water off. When I got home from work I just tightened the line. My sensor was right under the line and it was just a few drops and off it went.
I also added a separate carbon filter to my water hook up on a double bib. I installed a shut off valve on the end to keep out stuff. We use this one to fill gallon jugs for just cooking and coffee water. When u use them in line they only last for a few weeks with all the water use.

Most of the time my fiver is set up at my brother's place. I put a regulator in the water line after I saw the in line water pressure gauge read 110 lbs. Always use one after that.

Wow 110 psi. I guess that tested your system for leaks.

I also added SimpliSafe door/window sensors to the battery boxes, for when the TT is just parked next to the house in between outings. I have them on alert only mode along with the TT, so it texts me and does not alert SimpliSafe.

Ya I keep the sensors in my FW so when I had the house I had the door and a motion to go off and it was monitored by police. Good idea for the battery boxes. I installed locks on all my FW outside access doors. My driveway camera also kept an on on the right side

It sure did! The only reason that I can come up with for the high water pressure is my brother is on city water, and where he lives there are only maybe 8-12 people on the line. The pressure regulator went on when I saw that!

I bought this really nice regulator by Renator (M11-0660R).
I added a shutoff valve on the out end of the regulator so that I can see the exact water pressure at the valve. That way if I need to make any adjustments before I open the water line to the camper.

I have gone through about 3 or 4 of the inexpensive ones and got tires of all of a sudden no pressure in the shower, so I purchased the good one. It has been operational since April 1st with no issues. Like being able to check the actual pressure. I am going to pick up a PVC Fence 5x5x10' post and make a housing for it... one of these days
