Question Black tank valve leaks

We have a 2018 Eagle HT 28.5 RSTS. Our black tank valve leaks. The 5er underside is completely sheeted in. Any suggestions on how to cure the problem short of tearing the underside off?

Look in the basement, locate the valve, cut a flap in the corroplast leaving a uncut "hinge" on the front edge. Do repair and duct tape the flap shut.

How bad does it leak? Just a little fluid at the cap when you remove it, or a major flood?

Most likely you have some debris stuck in/on the gate valve. Couple options get a secondary twist on valve to put on at the hose connection. Flush the tank really good. Then inset up the sewer pipe a seer flush wand and try to remove the debris.

Thanks for the suggestion. However, looking in the basement doesn't help as I still can't see the valve.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've already added the Valterra. When I open it, with the black tank valve closed, there's a flood. I'm pretty sure you're right that there's debris stuck in the valve. I guess I'll have to figure out how to view the valve to determine a course of action.

It's going to be pretty much in the area straight back from the dump handle. Contact Jayco and ask for the tank schematics.

You can get an adapter with or without a valve included that you can attach a garden hose to and back flush the line. If it’s debris this might dislodge it. If not it’s a remove the valve and replace. Nasty job 🤮

A valve or seal replacement will be less of a smelly job if you wand-flush the tank thoroughly. We modified this one by drilling three more opposing 3/16" holes.

Along with something like this to hold the ball valve open, hands free.

I borrowed my neighbour's wand to clear a small pyramid. I'll get one and the valve prop. I also plan to get an endoscope. Thanks again.

I have/had the same problem. I tried flushing and washing to no avail. Works for a while the Viola starts again. I finally found a valve on Amazon that attaches to my outlet and love it. It’s made by Camco has a window so you can see when there is fluid in there.

Thanks, I already installed one. I'd still like to fix it so I can close the valve and leave the grey water draining when we're sopped for a few days.
