Question body-frame separation on overhead section of my 5th wheel

Anyone ever had a separation of the body/frame when loading onto the hitch? My 2010 eagle 30.5 5th wheel separates about 1/4" when loading onto the hitch. It goes back to the original position when off-loaded. What might be causing this?

Do you mean the edge trim at the sides? If so it is a common problem. The trim is secured (and sometimes not secured) with relatively short screws driven into endgrain wood. The stress of travel causes them to back out a bit.

Solution is to get some much longer screws and pull it back in place, then apply sealant again.

After doing so mine has not come 'loose' again.
