Carefree EZ ZipBlocker

Anybody using one of these? Opinions? Seems like a neat idea, easy to deploy, and would do wonders where my awning faces west in the summertime heat.

I got one for Christmas, but won't have it installed until this weekend when we go camping down in San Antonio. I'll try to remember to report back...

I have one that I purchased late in the season last year. Install was easy and I love the fact that the zipper part rolls up with the awning. Not only does it block the sun keeping you cooler, it adds some privacy and also acts as an awning hold down. Really like mine. Mine came in a nice carry case as well.

I have an older one that wasn’t a zip model and have used it on summer vacations at the beach and they do wonders in providing extra shade. I hope to upgrade to a zipper model this year.

We bought a regular sun shade from Amazon a few years ago for our seasonal site. We bought the 10 x 12 size. Our awing faces due west and the sun can be pretty rough in the late afternoon. It works really well until the sun is visible from under the awning. Then, it doesn't help much at all. The main purpose for it is so that I can work under the awning, on my laptop longer. In the middle of the summer, with the shade on the awning, I can stay outside until about 3 pm or so and then the sun is just too bright. Without the shade on the awning, I get chased away a few hours earlier. Perhaps the extra 15% blocking on the EZ ZipBlocker will provide better protection.

Does this ZipBlocker have any negatives w/ regards to the weight of it hanging off an electric awning?

Non that I can see. See my post above with it hanging. Weight is spread out and it isn't that heavy to begin with.

I have one. I anchor it with bungees and tent stakes. It's easy to take down if the awning needs to come in with the zipper.
