Close call - slid off the roof

Bad news is I slid off the roof. Good news is I happened to be cleaning the awning so it caught my fall. The awning is toast, but it's a small price to pay.

It's cold in Seattle so I ran the heater all day, and I thought the heat had defrosted the roof - not so. Kudos to the Glacier Package for keeping in the heat (I think)

Anyways, don't do what I just did, and be safe out there.Click image for larger version

Jeez man! Good to hear you are OK. What a scare that would be. Someone was definitely looking out for you on that one...

Thanks for posting this as a reminder for all of us. Safety is a BIG part of successful RVing.

Glad you're OK. When we getting older we still have to think safety. No matter what time of the year when a roof is wet, use soft anti slip footwear. When icy never go on a roof at all (10 ft. down is a long way).

Jayco we need foldup aluminum safety railings on the roof!

I am glad to hear you are ok. ALJO.....yeah 10 ft is along way down. About 10 yrs ago a co-worker of mine died falling from a 5 foot step ladder and he wasn't even on the top rung. He hit his head just right, he was in the hospital for 2 days and never recovered.

Let's all be safe out there!

Thanks everyone. I don't mind being an example of what not to do. I hope this is the only post of this sort on JOF. I could live with that.

Wow glad to hear your OK.
Hopefully your insurance will pick up the bill for your awning replacement.
