Colorado NM Fires!

I’m sure you have heard and seen the terrible fires burning in the Durango Silverton area.

Also around Eagles Nest Angel Fire in Cimarron area of New Mexico.

It’s been a awful dry winter and spring for much of the Four Corners area.

Just wanted to remind everyone to be careful with fires when camping. Be aware that the National Forest is closed in much of the area around and beyond because of extreme drought. If your planning to go to this area you will be limited so expect that and please be careful!

Thank you for the update. We have July reservations for Angel Fire. We are praying that we can still make the trip.

Such beautiful country.
I hope the fires end soon and nature recovers.

That stinks! My family lived in Farmington, NM up until I was 12 and we visited Durango and Silverton regularly. I was also a Boy Scout and went to Philmont in the Cimarron area. Beautiful parts of the country!

Thanks for posting. I was unaware. We are headed to Red River, NM, for our yearly early Aug. trip. That drive from Cimmaron over to Eagle Nest is beautiful, one of the highlights of our trip.
