Confused and disoriented

Recently bought a Jayco precept, 2016.
Confused as to location of black water tank fill up.
This model has a city water fill with the appropriate dials, but do not see fill up dials for the black water.
This model also has a macerate, is it necessary to leave it hooked up to the sewer connection even after you are done with removing the waste?

Not sure why you want to fill your black tank? The black tank holds the toilet waste. You fill your fresh water tank when your not going to be connected to the city water. The fresh water tank is used for ALL onboard water needs, sinks, shower and toilet. You have two (possibly 3) tanks for holding dirty water, grey for your sinks and shower, and black for your toilet.

You don't want to leave the black tank drain open except when your actually dumping. If your staying for an extended period of time, you can leave your grey water tank open, closing it a day or two before your going to dump your black tank. Then dump your black tank and use the grey tank to rinse out the hoses etc.

Good Luck.

A bit of advise.... Your black tank should never be totally empty, except when you buy it new. After I empty mine, I put 5 gallons of water in it and 1/2 cup powdered fabric softener in there followed by a 1/2 cup of Dawn dish-washing liquid. This prevents sludge build-up and helps liquefy solids and toilet paper.

Safe travels!

We couldn't find powdered fabric softener in the stores, but DeeDee found it on Amazon and ordered a couple of boxes. My indicator was blocked and showed full all the time until we started using this. After 2 trips on which we started with 5 gallons of fresh water, half cup of softener and detergent, it's working as intended. This also helps break up any sludge that may have already accumulated. I can't imagine a worse system to have to work on... ssooooo......................

The above photo looks like a nice addition to any camper, especially if you camp with young grand children...

We use Calgon water softener dry powder. Works great, add 2 cups to 4 gallons of warm water.

The black tank flush connection will fill the black tank if your intention is to rinse it out. I believe they tell you to leave the black tank valve open when using the flush. I haven't gotten that far yet on my new rig.

Think this the origin of that recipe, I've used his for years with great success.
