Converter battery charging question

Our Eagle is a 2012 and has a 45A Progressive Dynamics converter and I assume with the Charge Wizard. I was thinking about switching to an AGM battery to replace our original wet cell Exide deep cycle battery. So my question is will the Charge Wizard properly charge an AGM battery? I ask this because I've read somewhere that the charging protocols are different with an AGM vs. wet cell batteries. Looked on their website and couldn't find an answer. Thanks, Terry

I had the same question last week and asked Progressive Dynamics that question. My converter/charger is a PD4060.

Yes. It will work with AGM deep cycle.

Can I use this converter/charger for AGM batteries? I would like to replace the standard wet cell in my RV with AGMs.

Most existing converters on the market will probably be a better fit for charging an AGM battery than they are for a flooded battery. AGM's have a slightly lower voltage requirement than flooded which should be charged around 14.7-14.8 volts.
Most converters will bulk charge around 14.4volts which is better suited for AGM's.

Google what converter model you have and see if you can determine what voltage levels it charges to during each stage. But you are probably fine switching to an AGM.

Cheers
