Part of the service problem is the lack of qualified service technicians. The lack of an RV lemon law is probably the key as to why the lack of qst continues, with some exceptions.
Over at irv2.com there are Newmar buyers going crazy, just like this atny says, regarding the overweight front ends on the 2016 Dutch Stars. All of those owner, who failed to weigh their front ends before signing, should watch this video. It really is up to the buyer to become savvy enough to protect themselves before they buy, not after they buy. Those buyers apparently are being slow rolled as to the fix and despite representations that a fix is upcoming, Newmar is very close-to-the-vest about what exactly the fix will be. This video explains why mfgs are not more consistently and quickly responsive. And Newmar apparently started with the opinion that the DS were fit for their purpose as is.
And the opposing attorney was right. $200,000 for a mh is for a piece of junk from the viewpoint of the mfs. When I worked at the rental RV place we felt the same about the units we fixed...rolling junk.
What the attorney did not say, was that the best insurance is to up skill yourself and plan on doing most of the work, including the warranty work, yourself. If you can't, then complain about the time and cost problems kind of suggests you were over your head financially and technically to begin with, just coming off the lot.
