This has been discussed several times in this forum and you will get lots of mixed reviews. I'll kick this one off by saying for me the answer is yes, $1700 and I can't say for sure yet. Yes- I have purchased a 7 year bumper to bumper on my last 2 units. $1700 and it covers everything, including any electronics that I add. Mine includes a $50.00 deductable for on site service which was important to me as we have ours in a perm spot. First one I bought was on our 2011 that was destroyed by a tornado 366 days after I bought it. They rolled $1550 of the origional purchase price into our new 2012 when we bought it and so far I have yet to need it. Hoping I never need to, but just in case, $1700 was worth peace of mind to me. Next.

Is any insurance policy "worth it"? With that said I have one on the MH for 7yrs/84,000 miles, all inclusive. I've already recouped 1/2 of the initial investment due to a defective radiator. I really never want to have to use it, but I consider it a good investment. Just my 3 cents worth.

Boubou,
You might check with your local dealer on that one. I've only purchased them on new units, but I would just about bet the dealerships sell them on used ones as well.

I would not recommend the Good Sam extended warranty, they have high deductible and have allot of exclusions! Jayco has there own extended warranty Jay Plus that is really good or Star is another good company!!

This comes up alot and it seems that extended warranties are a mater of preference. Some people get them, some don't. Personally, I got it when I bought my 28DSBH.

I passed, and would pass again. The one I was offered was $1500 for 5 additional years with $50 deductible beyond the Jayco factory warranty. I passed for 4 primary reasons...
1) doesn't cover items associated with maintenance. Specifically I wanted coverage should the roof or any of the seals leaked --- but guess what that wasn't covered.
2). Although there are lots of components in the TT, very few cost $1000+. Further, of the expensive appliances I asked many friends and really didn't hear of many with failures, especially outside the initial factory/OEM warranty
3) How long was I going to own the TT for...doubt we will have this TT for 7 years, I expect a change much quicker than that.
4) If the issues you have is a result of an event covered by either your RV collision or comprehensive insurance that will provide coverage not the extended warranty.
Remember, buying and extended warranty means you are gambling that you will have issues while warranty issuer is betting things will work as expected. I like to think things in general will work as expected.

extended warranties
We'll wait until year two to decide. Seems like we are getting quite a few warranty repairs but I think it's probably part and parcel of shakedown and it will all get fixed in time. If we see much more stuff coming up, we might just bite the bullet. We are not fixer upper or handy dandy type people.
