Factory trailer brake OEM

I have a Ram 3500 it came equipped with a factory brake controller the previous owner added a 7 pin connector inside the pickup bed does anyone know if that is connected to the factory brake controller and is there anyway to find out?
Thanks in advance for any help with this

Logic says he added the inbed connector for 5th or goose neck trailer. Both would likely have brakes
He likely tied into the 7 pin at bumper wiring.
Only good test is hookup a trailer to it Test the brakes

You could try testing with a meter but a lot of newer trucks have circuits that control the lighting and braking. If it doesn't sense the brake magnet no voltage.

Are you sure he added it? Could've come factory with it. My 17 3500 had the inbed 7 way already installed.

The Fords too have both connectors as well and are either an option depending on packages or added by an owner.

Suggest you get under the back bumper and check out the connectors. If it's a bit sloppy, then it's an owner added non OE though Hoppkins (and probably others), I believe also have a plug in kit (https://hopkinstowingsolutions.com/?...e-wiring-kits/)
